Affiliate Marketing 101

An affiliate is someone who promotes/sell's a product for a company and receives a commission for it.

It seem's like everyone get's a little freaked out with how people explain how to promote the products.Im going to try and make it easier for you.

Where To Start


  • The first thing you need to do is find a affiliate program/network.
  • You can find a good one on affiliate network directories
  • You can find some good affiliate programs here

Where To Promote

If your a blogger/writer
  • Create a blog/niche blog.Base it on the topic,or around the topic. Example: topic:recipes,around the topic:food,recipes,family etc.
  • You can create a blog at Blogger,Wordpress And Tumblr.
  • Write articles about the product you are promoting,you can use it on Hubpages and Squidoo.
If you lack writing skills

  • Promote on traffic exchange sites, you view a site and earn a credit, so then your site can be seen.
  • Promote on safelist sites,its like sending thousands of emails to the member's.
  • Sharing to social networking sites like:Twitter,Facebook,Myspace,Tumblr,Pinterist,Google + etc

Staying Organized

  • Bookmark all of your sites, keep them in a "Affiliate" type folder name
  • Make a spreadsheet to input all of your affiliate information (Program name, commission type,referral link)
  • Try using Google Chrome, I have had such better results since I started using it.It offer's so much more then firefox or explorer.
  • Keep a notebook with your information in it, and so you can jot down random info you need later.
  • Make a special email for your affiliate marketing
  • Make a special new user for your computer,name it "Work" or "Affiliate Marketing".
Plan Of Action

  1. Make a schedule for your affiliate marketing.In the beginning it will take longer to get things done, because your new.Try setting aside 4 hours a day to your affiliate marketing.
  2. Make sure you are organized,and have written down on paper or on your computer all the information for your programs.
  3. Write content in your blog or promote on traffic exchange sites.
  4. Keep tabs on your commission stats
